Restructure and temporary contracts at the Powerhouse Museum
On 10 October the PSA received a message from members informing the union that a restructure was being proposed at the Museum. Powerhouse Museum senior management and Human Resources had not informed the PSA of the proposed restructure. We would like to thank the members and delegates who got in touch with the union.
After the PSA reached out to Powerhouse HR, advice about a proposed restructure at the Powerhouse Media Technologies was given. This proposal will impact staff in the current Production, Workshop and Media Technology Teams.
The Powerhouse has provided the PSA with copies of the Change Management Plan, which affects the Technical Production team. It has also provided a presentation for staff at Consultation-Technical Production, consultation FAQs and a Consultation Feedback Document for staff.

Temporary contracts
The PSA has also received news today that staff members on temporary contacts in the Collections team are being informed by senior management and HR that their contracts are being terminated early due to budget restraints. If you have been asked to attend a meeting with your manager and HR, please let your delegate know, or contact the MSC at or 1800 772 679.
Just a reminder as well that whenever you are asked to attend a formal work meeting, you are entitled to ask for an agenda. You are also entitled to have a support person attend with you if you feel uncomfortable or would like support in the meeting.
This is a timely reminder to members that if something in the workplace doesn’t seem right to you, always get in touch with the union. Let your delegate know; or contact the Member Support Center at or 1800 772 679.
