SafeWork restructure update - Public Service Association

SafeWork restructure update

PSA and local SafeWork delegates met with Management on 31 October 2024 to continue discussions in relation to the restructure.

We note that Stage 2 (Expression of Interest) process has completed.  We are happy to report that no Regulatory Services Officers have been adversely impacted.  All RSOs have retained roles and there are 2 vacant roles that will be recruited to.  This is a change from the proposed structure and delegates Lou Burns and Jodie Cleaves are to be commended for their efforts to ensure such positive outcomes for their RSO colleagues.

Management are still anticipating the new structure going live on 8 November 2024 but there will be a soft transition into new roles.

Team Coordinator recruitment is progressing.

A number of members have asked questions about what the mobility advisors can do to support them and whether they are able to apply for higher graded roles in mobility.  PSA understands that mobility is for finding roles at grade and while you will not be stopped from applying for other positions, advisors will not be able to help you find them.  PSA has requested a briefing in regard to mobility so that delegates are better able to answer your questions.

On the subject of mobility, PSA reminds members that if you take a role and then decide down the track that it’s not for you, there will be no Voluntary Redundancy.  Buyer’s Remorse is not recognised as a reason to walk away from a role and into being declared excess.  So please consider any offers carefully.  You are able to contact your delegates if you are unsure about a role you have been offered.

PSA will continue to meet with management on a regular basis.  If you have further questions please reach out to your local delegates in the first instance:
