Update to HSR Election Matter
As you may recall, in our previous bulletin we advised you that, as a result of reaching an impasse with management on the election of Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) within Testsafe, PSA requested that the independent umpire be brought in (as per legislation) to decide on the number of HSRs and work sites in Testsafe.
Under legislation, the matter needs to be referred to Safework who make the decision as to whether they will run with it or pass it on to the Resource Regulator. We have been waiting for some weeks now for that decision to be made. We believe that Safework should be advising us in the next week or two as to their decision. We will provide further information when we have it.
