Your Flexible Working Hours Agreement: negotiations to commence

PSA staff and Delegates met with the Department of Education on 20 July 2022 for our Joint Consultative Committee meeting. At this meeting, the PSA raised that the current Flexible Working Hours Agreement 2019 is due to expire. The Flex Agreement represents a local arrangement between the PSA and the Department, under Clause 10 of the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment 2009) Award.

The PSA requested early engagement before the agreement expires in December 2022. We have been advised of the contact in Employee Relations, who will be ready to commence the negotiation process soon. The Association will form a working group of delegates representing Corporate and Field staff, together with School Psychologists and Student Support Officers, all of whom as Government Sector Employment (GSE) Act 2013 “employees” are covered by the Flexible Working Hours Agreement 2019.

The current flex agreement will remain in place until negotiations are finalised and the PSA will keep members updated as the discussions progress.
