12 months to cut $170 million: Service NSW restructure

The PSA has been briefed in relation to a program of change occurring across the next 12 months in Service NSW.

Four proposed Restructure Management Plans (RMPs) have been announced with consultation closing on 19 July 2024.

The four affected areas are:

  • Risk, Strategy and Customer Support
  • Service Delivery contact Centre
  • Partnerships, Projects, and Insights
  • Cyber Security

It is our understanding that there will be a reduction of at least 125 full-time equivalent roles. The PSA is highly concerned about the impacts of this drastic cut and will be fighting for members every step of the way.

The PSA is pushing for all options to be explored, including vacant and temporary roles being released for ongoing employment. However, it is anticipated that a number of staff will be going through the mobility program prior to being declared excess.

This is the first wave of change; we expect there to be two other waves later this year completing first half of next year.

PSA industrial staff and delegates have arranged to meet weekly with management as the RMPs progress, starting this week. We will keep members updated as we go along.

If you have feedback you wish to submit in relation to the proposals or concerns you wish to raise, please contact member support on or 1800 772 679 quoting reference number 222602.
