DFSI – Maitland labour hire – September 2018 (PDF version)
Several weeks ago, the PSA was alerted to Fees & Fines management’s plans to engage 10 labour hire staff to deal with a backlog of queues.
Since then, your union has made a number of representations to Revenue NSW management that we object to the use of labour hire (AKA agency temps) to deal with this backlog of queues – especially as there were existing staff at Grade 3/4 and Grade 1/2 who were interested in being offered the opportunity for either overtime or acting up in a higher grade.
On 12 September, management advised the PSA that while the business will be continuing with its current plan to engage short-term agency temps to deal with the queues, it was agreeable to the use of HDA (for 1/2s acting up) and overtime as appropriate, after the SAPConnect implementation (on or around 3 October 2018).
The PSA welcomed this commitment.
