On 1 May, working people across the world celebrated more than 150 years of collective action through the trade union movement; giving voice to the need for security, sustainability, and social justice.
On 6 May, the South Coast Labor Council and its affiliates, which includes your PSA and CPSU NSW, will hold its annual May Day March and Rally, at 12:00pm. The event will be held at Wentworth Street Port Kembla. All members and their friends and family are encouraged to attend.
- Due to trackwork planned for that day, we are relying on private transport for this event and encouraging car-pooling. There will be buses taking the place of trains but for those without access to transport we are recommending that they assemble at 11:00am at Lowden Square (directly opposite Eastern Side of Wollongong Train Station) where a combination of buses and car pooling will be available to assist with transport to Wentworth Street Port Kembla.
- At the conclusion of the march and rally, the Illawarra Folk Club will host a special May Day Concert which will be held from 2:30pm at the Servo an outdoor venue at the corner of Wentworth Street and Darcy Road. Food and drinks will be available.
