PSA at Parramatta Police Headquarters – Join Your Union Day (1 May) – April 2018 (PDF version)
Every year, May Day is celebrated globally on 1 May as the most important day for working people around the world. It is a time to celebrate all the achievements working people and unions have won over decades by coming together in solidarity; as well as to reflect on the future work to be done for workers’ rights.
Australian unions, led by ACTU Secretary Sally McManus, are developing a powerful movement to Change the Rules for Australian workers. 1 May 2018 is Join Your Union Day and all across the country, members will be out in workplaces adding to the collective strength of numbers and signing people up to the union.
PSA staff will be in attendance at Parramatta Police Headquarters as follows:
- Tuesday, 1 May 2018
- 9am-3pm
- PHQ Entrance (table outside the café)
Drop by to have a chat about what unions across the country are doing to fight for workers’ pay and conditions. Bring along a colleague to join the union and add to our strength.
It’s time to change the rules to ensure workers get fair pay rises based on productivity increases rather than arbitrary wage caps; to change the rules to fight rising income inequality, housing and rental affordability; to change the rules to stop the casualisation of work and erosion of job security; to change the rules to close the gender pay gap; to change the rules to stop the right to strike from being stripped away; and to change the rules so workers and their unions have the ability to fight for a fair go.
A union workplace is a stronger and fairer workplace – get your colleagues involved today!
