RMS and TFNSW AWARD UPDATE

RMS and TFNSW AWARD UPDATE

The combined unions represented through Unions NSW were ready to lodge the various awards in the IRC to ensure members received the 2.5% wage rise on or before the first full pay period from 1 July 2021. You can see our bulletin from earlier this week.

At the last minute TfNSW has put the following offer to the unions:

  1. 2.5 per cent wage rise (2.04 per cent salary, 0.5 per cent superannuation)
  2. variation to the awards;
  3. 12 month duration;
  4. no extra claims clause; and
  5. specifically for the Roads and Maritime Services School Crossings Supervisors Award 2019 amendment to clause 17.1 to include a long sleeve shirt offering sun and UV protection.

TfNSW has sought a response by close of business 30 June 2021 and are unable to commit to back pay to 1 July 2021 if an in-principle agreement is not reached.

The PSA has expressed frustration and are extremely disappointed by TfNSW lack of commitment to timeliness in these negotiations.  Particularly when their behaviour potentially impacts when our members salary increases become effective. It is unacceptable, particularly when the PSA has been attempting to engage in negotiations since February 2021.

Armed with the results from the numerous surveys, which included endorsement for the previous 1.5 per cent wage rise, the PSA are urgently meeting with your elected delegates to seek direction on behalf of the membership on TfNSW most recent offer.
