PSA and your local delegates met with SafeWork on 7 November 2024 for our regular discussion around the restructure.
PSA and delegates will meet with management in the next week to continue discussions around the mobility process and the classification structure, particularly clause 15.4 of the Crown Employees (Department of Customer Service – SafeWork NSW Inspectors 2007) Award.
The Deputy Secretary is expecting the structure to go live on 8 November 2024, albeit with a soft transition. While he wants everyone in their roles by Christmas things will still be bumpy for the next few weeks as people move into new roles and take on new duties. Please discuss with your current manager expectations around relinquishing matters before moving into a new team.
Directors and managers have been briefed and will be reaching out to their new teams in the coming days.
If you have issues with the transition please reach out to the reforms inbox in the first instance and then your local delegates.
Affected staff are moving into mobility from 11 November 2024. If you are going into mobility, you should be given meaningful work.
PSA asked about backfilling of roles. While we agree that roles should be backfilled pending a successful recruitment process, it is important that people are able to perform in those roles. Management will come back to us with a response on this.
Restructure meetings will continue for the next few weeks while the transition occurs. Please continue providing questions and/or concerns to your delegates or contact quoting reference number 222675.
