Safework Restructure Members Update
Your union and members of the Safework Inspectors Advisory Group (SWIVAG) met with management on 18 July 2024 for the weekly consultation meeting in relation to the SafeWork restructure.
PSA raised concerns that there are still people who have not received the restructure information. We requested an extension of the deadline for consultation, which SafeWork were unwilling to provide beyond 23 July. However, they have agreed to accept feedback from PSA until COB 26 July 2024. Please ensure that if you want PSA to submit feedback on your behalf you get it to us by 25 July so we can collate and submit on time.
If you are providing feedback direct to management, please remember to forward a copy to member support quoting reference number 222675 so that we can ensure we are aware of and advocating for your concerns.
Your SWIVAG delegates raised concerns around roles missing in the Org Charts, missing specialist functions, lack of data around the boundaries, and how the deletion of administrative roles will not only directly impact their Regulatory Service Officer (RSO) colleagues’ lives, but also the work of Inspectors and as a result the ability of Safework to deliver on its core functions.
While we were informed that management were already looking into these matters, the Deputy Secretary requested further information be supplied by the SWIVAG in relation to how and why specific teams will be impacted by not having certain administrative support.
PSA advised that we will have RSO delegates joining us at the next meeting, which will be held on 25 July 2024.
The FAQ document is being updated regularly, with further updates expected on Friday 19 July 2024.
PSA will continue to meet weekly with management to progress member concerns. Please continue providing these to your delegates or contact quoting reference number 222675
