This Monday, Sheriff’s Officers returned to work at Toronto Courthouse following a Work, Health and Safety (WHS) win.

Earlier this month, Local Court management stopped Sheriff’s Officers’ access to use back-of-house areas such as meal rooms, toilets, and other facilities without adequate consultation.

Staff were left with the option of using a meal room which was adjoined to a toilet and in a public area of the court complex.

Thanks to the dedicated work of our local delegates, Health and Safety Representatives, WHS Committee and members joining together, we have secured the resumed use of the previous facilities after extended consultation with management.
