Reiby Youth Justice Centre: Workplace Group Committee election 2020-21
The election of Reiby YJC PSA Workplace Group Committee positions is held annually and is normally conducted at the centre’s AGM for Wednesday, 22 July 2020. On Monday, 20 July 2020, the PSA decided to cancel the scheduled AGM and conduct the ballot by email due to uncertainties and re-emergence of COVID-19 cases across south west Sydney.
All positions were declared vacant, nominations called and the election process was notified by email to members on Monday, 20 July 2020.
The following members accepted their nominations for five Executive roles for the WPG:
Chair Lisa Matthews, Rakesh Pratap and Robert Hughes
Vice-Chair Richard Hutchinson and Telesia Ahovelo
Secretary Courtney Stewart and Nataly Hanna
Women’s Rep Elyse Finlayson and Brooke Barclay
Aboriginal Rep John Lamb
The ballot process was declared open Monday evening and closed 5pm Friday, 24 July 2020. Members provided their casting ballots by email to Latu Sailosi, PSA Organiser for Youth Justice and nominated returning officer. In total, the PSA received 34 ballots – two of the ballots were deemed ineligible due to their non-membership status.
The following ballot results for each of the Reiby WPG Committee positions 2020-21:
Chair Robert Hughes
Vice-Chair Telesia Ahovelo
Secretary Courtney Stewart
Women’s Rep Brooke Barclay
Aboriginal Rep John Lamb
