Department of Customer Service: Extreme weather and work

The Department of Customer Service Crisis Controller has distributed a message, “urging staff to limit their movements for safety and work from home in the next few days where possible. If you are not at home and if travel is not urgent, you should stay where you are and remain safe”.

If you are affected by the current extreme weather, we encourage you to contact your manager and request working from home in the first instance, citing the Crisis Controller’s email. If you are in a role that cannot be done remotely, but you are prevented from attending your normal work location by a natural emergency or by a major transport disruption, you are entitled to FACS leave to cover your non-attendance.
