Land & Housing Corporation – Portfolio Management – Workforce Transition Strategy Implementation
Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) staff have now been briefed on the proposed reform of the Portfolio Management Branch.
The focus of the reform is to establish the functions and organisational structures to administer the maintenance contract kicking off from 1 July 2024. It involves significant organisational change and the creation of several business units to accommodate a more hands on approach to the maintenance contract.
The reform itself is subject to a Change Management Plan (CMP). The CMP outlines the rationale for change, the processes for filing roles and the timelines. Consistent with the position the union has advocated for on behalf of members, all staff have been assigned to a role in the draft organisational design.
For some members, there will be little change in the functions that they administer. However, there will be changes for some roles which require training and support. LAHC will be delivering an education program to provide the necessary upskilling and support for members to accommodate their new proposed roles.
As part of the consultation obligations on LAHC they must take into account the feedback and views of members. That means the time for talk, submissions and proposals begins now. The PSA urges members to provide their feedback to LAHC.
Consultation is currently open until Thursday 30 November.
The PSA will also make a submission on behalf of its membership. If you wish to provide the PSA feedback you can contact Industrial Officer Shane Howes by close of business Monday 27 November 2023. Your feedback will be de-identified.
