Service NSW restructure update

The PSA and local Delegate Trina Leask met with management on 10 and 17 October 2024 to discuss the Service NSW restructure.

Wave 2

We are pleased to advise members that, as a result of your union’s advocacy and your feedback, there have been close to 40 changes made to the Service Delivery proposed structure; more than 50 changes made to the Customer Care and Business Bureau proposed structure and more than 40 changes actioned in the Enterprise, Risk and Enablement (ERE) proposed structure.

Thirty-three staff members in Service Delivery were directly assigned to roles and over 20 were matched at Stage 1 in ERE.

Wave 2 is completing, with staff being advised of Stage 1 outcomes. Expressions of Interest (EOI) are opening on 21 October 2024.

Wave 3

Consultation has closed for Wave 3 with 900 pieces of feedback being received.  This is now being reviewed.

EOIs will be released on 30 October 2024 at 5:00pm. There will be at least seven calendar days to respond, with a three-week period for decisions to be made.

They will be asking two questions as part of the EOI process, answers to which should be included in your cover letter. The questions will be released ahead of time.

If you feel you need time during work hours to prepare the EOI documentation please discuss with your manager in the first instance.

Some members had asked about whether they should apply for a role in a team, or just a role at grade. We were advised that the process would be role based, with teams to be allocated later.  However, if you have a preference for a particular team, you should express that preference in your cover letter.

The PSA raised concerns about the mobility process occurring in January and were advised that historically, there are roles available in December but it was agreed that there are fewer roles in January. It has been decided that, for people entering mobility between 6 and 17 January 2025, you will be offered a 10-week program. This is voluntary. Should you only want the usual eight weeks in Mobility, that will also be available.

We remind members that weekly meetings with management are continuing.  If you have any questions, comments or feedback please send them through to member support on quoting reference number 222602.
