Update on temporary closures of Correctional Centres - Public Service Association

Update on temporary closures of Correctional Centres

PSA representatives attended all-staff meetings (24 and 28 January) at Emu Plains, Dawn De Loas and Hunter Correctional Centres. Your union was given an update from Assistant Commissioner Dr Anne Marie Martin.

Dr Martin announced plans to temporarily close the above Correctional Centres to deploy staff to other centres due to staff shortages as a result of COVID are to be placed on hold. She made a commitment to continue programs at these Centres.

Dr Martin did however comment that requirements will be reviewed on a regular basis depending on the ongoing staff shortages. Staff will be consulted in regards to any changes.
