DCJ Law Reform & Legal Services: Divisional Update
Workload Mini-Survey
Please complete our 5-minute survey on workload experiences in Law Reform & Legal Services HERE.
64 per cent of DCJ staff reported feeling “burned out” out in last year’s PMES. Appropriate management of workload is a key departmental responsibility, as excessive workloads can adversely impact our health, retention of flex, and working conditions.
Your union is invested in identifying and addressing the drivers of this endemic problem. All PSA survey responses are confidential, and individual data is anonymised.
Next Divisional Meeting
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our inaugural LRLS member meeting in April. As discussed, we’ll be holding divisional member meetings bi-monthly.
You should have received a calendar invite for our next meeting at 1.15pm–2pm on Thursday 20 June. We’ll be meeting in 6 PSQ (L6.S.28) and via Teams for those working remotely.
These meetings are for current and future PSA members employed within the LRLS division. This union forum is specifically for our division, and is an opportunity to convene with colleagues on workplace issues relevant to us.
Anti-Discrimination NSW (ADNSW) Update
Members from ADNSW are welcome to attend the divisional meeting above, but we’re also holding a dedicated meeting with ADNSW members at 12pm–12.45pm on Wednesday 3 July. We’ll discuss our upcoming Joint Consultative Committee meeting with management, and other issues specific to the agency.
Last JCC, we advocated for additional resourcing to support the implementation of the LGBTQ conversion practices ban, which management undertook to include in budget submissions. We also discussed agency support for flexible working arrangements, and encourage members to reach out if you have specific circumstances to progress.
As always, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the contacts below should you need to talk union.
