Since November 2022, members have been affected by the temporary closures of centres around the state, which were originally expected to reopen in June 2023.  Whenever PSA has requested an update on these centres, CSNSW have replied that they have not settled on how to proceed.

Today, CSNSW advised us that the anticipated surge of inmate numbers following the reduction of COVID-19 restrictions did not occur and as a result, CSNSW is of the view that it is not economical to reopen the locations at this stage.

Affected staff will soon receive a letter from CSNSW advising them that their temporary appointments will extend until the end of February 2024.
