Prison Bed Capacity Adjustment Program issues

PBCAP Issues - Nov 2020 (PDF version)

The POVB attended the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) on Monday, 23 November 2020 in relation to the Prison Bed Capacity Adjustment Program (PBCAP) process and matters where issues that were agreed upon during Committee meetings and presentations are not being accurately reflected on the final PBCAP proposal.

Commissioner Murphy made the recommendation that all affected Correctional Centres that have unresolved issues, that we say have been ignored or rejected by Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW), must put those issues in writing to CSNSW for reply.

If you are a member of your centre’s PBCAP Committee, please send all unresolved issues you have raised in consultation to David Bartle, Industrial Officer for the PSA () by this Friday (27 November), so that he can compile them and send the dispute document to CSNSW. Please make sure you capture each and every issue raised by your respective PBCAP Committee. As much background information as you can provide will be helpful for this process.

This is our best opportunity to have your PBCAP issues resolved with the assistance of the IRC, so please make sure you engage in the process and get us as much information as possible by Friday, 27 November 2020.
