You would have received an email earlier today from your Secretary who advised you that as of 1 April 2022 the following areas are moving from the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) to both Transport and Treasury. They include:

Transport

Barangaroo Activation and Precinct Management team within Infrastructure NSW, which recently moved into DPE, will also be part of the teams who will join our colleagues at Transport.

Treasury

Environment, Energy and Science Group will be moving across to Treasury.

Energy Corporation of NSW, including all DPE employees who are currently working to support their functions.

The majority of employees in the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability directorate.

Unfortunately, what was not addressed in this broadcast is what does this mean for you.  So let’s take you through what we were told earlier today:

  • Firstly, and most importantly you remain a Public Servant.
  • Your current Award and conditions of employment remain.
  • Your current policies and procedures remain.
  • Your location remains.
  • Your email address remains as is for the moment.
  • Staff will administer work in the new agency via service level agreements with DPIE and for the time being that there will be little change to what you are doing right now.

We will arranging work place meetings but in the meantime if you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate in contacting us on 1300 772 679.
