At the Delegates to Management meeting in July 2020 the delegates, who are the decision making body of the POVB, voted unanimously in favour of a Rule change for the POVB Rules.
The Rule change is required due to a motion that was passed in the November 2019 DTM in regards to POVB Awards.

The POVB Rules are in the process of being updated and completed.
POVB members will have 14 days, from this bulletin going out, to nominate someone for a POVB Life Member Award – closing date Friday, 9 October, 2020.
This year will be the first year of the Award, so it means that we can have two people chosen this year, and then one person every year after that.

National Corrections Day is on 15 January, 2021 and will be the day the POVB Life Member Awards will be announced. As will Delegate of the Year Award.
These Awards are in recognition of the dedication and commitment to the POVB membership.
Delegates, past and present, have worked tirelessly in promoting the POVB. They have done this in challenging times of privatisation, Award negotiations, disciplinaries and changing reforms. They have done this at the expense of their personal time, at the expense of their own careers and they do it because they believe in the POVB, the role that we do and people they work with every day.
What better day to promote this than National Corrections Day.
